DLI collection
Durham County Council closed the DLI museum and the collection is no longer intact.
However they have relocated some of it to Spennymoor, with limited access. There are I believe a number of volunteers working to keep it going but I don't have much information on it. You could possible contact Durham County Council and ask for help. email: Code:

That is very sad a famous county regiment like that. I bet if you wanted a gender problem office you would have no problem.

DLI
Good evening
Try Mike Finchen at http://qmsmilitaria.com/contact.php who is pretty much the font of all knowledge on the subject of DLI stuff. Or, Fred Bromilow or Andrew Gavaghan if they are Members here. I do not have contact details for either of the latter two Collectors. Back in the day, another man who would answer the question was the late, and much missed, Lee Bamburgh whose substantial DLI collection was dispersed largely privately I seem to recall. Good luck BB |

If Fred isn't a member and it's the Fred Bromilow I believe it to be, subjects never come up when I've talked to him, I could show him any images you may have and maybe get an answer.

I've had a word with Fred, who's told me that only the volunteer battalions used a pouch badge and around 1908 only the 6th battalion continued to do so.
The regular battalions of the DLI didn't have a pouch badge. If you contact Spennymoor they may be able to help. |

DLi pouch badge
Hi,
There are DLI musician's pouch badges out there. A search on this forum might bring up threads...I posted a scarce bi-metal one a while ago for the 7th Btn but I believe there was one produced for the 2/5th as well.. Cheers, Mark |

Hi Mark,
Muscician’s Card case badges are known to 5th, 2/5th and 7th Battalions. They have three loops to the rear and ORs are brass. Cheers Dean |
