Bas

Welcome to the forum.

Please post images of the backs of the titles, as the back generally reveals more about the originality than the front.

Keith

Dear Keith,

Sorry I am new here.

Wrong pic. This should be the correct one.

Hi Bas,

IMO, these titles are suspicious.
The colour and backs are not matching original examples.
Jack has a good pair of titles for sale on his website http://www.chairbornemilitaria.co.uk...h=12055&phqu=2
You can clearly see the differences.
As for the colour, I believe the original titles are more reddish than maroon. See the attached photo of a BD with these titles and compare the colour with the Pegasus patch.

Hope it helps.
Pierre

Dear Pierre,

Many thanks for your feedback!

No the ones I show are not from Chairborne.

Best regards,

Bas

It must be someone else, with the similar taste in home furnishings!

Which is why I asked, but there are a few other sellers who shoot on the same sort of "wooden" backdrop.

If you have a copy of Lock's book on Airborne insignia, you can see they come on both cherry and maroon backings, so the colour is not definitive IMO.

The backs are a good match for some of the early handmade examples that had a Bn number beneath them which was ordered removed so sometimes this was folder under or chopped off.

All the handmade types can look like iffy Indian made copies, you pay your money or not as you see fit.

If the price was not too bad, I would risk buying these.

You may be right on the colour. It could have been private purchase but I'm not convinced given the poor quality of embroidery.

I would like to see bigger sharper pics of them, but many of the originals of these are not of the highest quality as far as i can research them.

If cheap enough I would buy them

I've had a pair just like these in similar condition. I am certain that they are original, just looking a bit scruffy from wear and frequent washing.
