Stoottroepen - Brabant/Limburg Regt's Cap Badge
Hi,
I bought this rather cheaply and have not seen another, other than in images to compare and I hope someone can express an opinion on originality. Some brief info: The Stoottroepen "Stormtroopers' were made up from Dutch Underground/Resistance Fighters when parts of Holland were liberated, the Brabant Regt served with the British 21st Army and the Limburger Regt with the American 9th Army. It is the shoulder strap badge for the Regiment Stoottroepen circa 1947.

Thanks Marc,
I was misled in my assumption it was a Cap Badge by the description from the seller and finding the attached which did not really refer to the badge which can be seen halfway down Paul http://msbeliever.tripod.com/Underground.html Last edited by Paul Spellman; 26-07-17 at 01:04 PM. |

IMHO "Shock Troops" is a better translation then "Stormtroopers".

It's a shoulder badge (and original), the cap badge can be seen here:

Are you sure it is a collar badge?
IMHO $45Bty is correct. It is the shoulder badge until the uniforms changed to the two toned ones ("grove stof" to "fijne stof") and the shoulder badges were discarded and replace by collar patches/badges (in this case red five sided patch with newly designed badge). BTW the badge shown in the Wikipedia article is a beret badge, not a cap badge.
