This one is post '53 but not by much. In the 60s we had OE, CE and RE - being Ordnance, Control and Radio Electrical. I think 'L' was the forerunner to OE but not 100% sure.

The dimensions suggest an arm badge rather than collar badge so probably P.O. as the crown and star arrangement on branch badges is qualification not rank related. I have seen 'Instructors' with crown above and two stars below as Leading Hands.

Now this one is really interesting! Never seen this before - is that a missle crossed over a torpedo?

David Howell or guzzman (Pete) may know if its a relatively modern rate.
