RAF Badge question

I have a few RAF dpm and desert shirt all have the RAF TRF on them but most also have a small bit of Velcro under the TRF can any one tell me what its for.

Don't know definitively, but does the shirt have a sown on Union Jack on the sleeve? If not it could be for that or the AEW number. My AEW was about 1cm high by 4cm, if I remember correctly!

For the RAF Squadron badge (yes they do have them) or the Expeditionary Air Wing number badge.

Oops, sorry as Marc points out it is EAW! Exactly which badge was on your shirts will depend on the size of the Velcro patch. Not all RAF personnel served in EAWs and the Union flag was usually sown directly onto the shirt. If you Google EAW you will see the various units that exist (ed).

Thanks to all for the help, a lot of the shirts I have never had union jacks on them there is no sign of this on the left arm,. now I need to find some of these badges.
