Economy Captain Rank slides
Hi Team
I have this interesting economy Capt Rank slides, which I havent as yet come across any info on the forum as yet. Hopefully some one will shed more light on econmy Officer Ranks and there use. I do like that they have split pins. Are these Baklite or plastic? Were they used post war? The rank slide is a faded OD would these have been used in all theatres or the far east? cheers Phill |

They are the same material as the plastic cap badges, being cellulose acetate.
I have some loose ones about, with crowns which have been overpainted for rifles use.

Thanks Jerry
For showing your crowns and pips, I do have 2 economy badges in my collection , but never looked into it. I did see Billys excellent post on his superb collection of economy badges. I did check that plastic superseded Bakelite(late 40s?) as it became cheaper to produce and was stronger than Bakelite albeit being same polymer propertie. Thanks Leigh for the numbers, compared to cloth and metal appears not to have been popular. cheers for the input. Phill |
