NOT UNKNOWN BUT CAN IT BE DATED
Blackened brass KC cap badge Halifax Rifles but with a slider. Slider looks original. Hopefully someone can date for me when it would have been used?
Thanks Don |

Hi Don, Some early post First WW Canadian cap badges were made with sliders. The size difference may be significant. The badge is likely early 20's.

CANADIAN MILITIA BADGES WITH SLIDERS
Thanks Bill. I once had a Wentworth Regiment badge with a slider and one of collectors I showed it too thought it was from the 20's. Size wise it think it is about the same as other HR cap badges that I have seen. The other badge in the picture is the collar that came with this cap. I wonder how popular sliders were from the militia period as I haven't seen many. Would slider versions be associated with a certain type of hat or side cap?

Hi Don, I have a couple of 1920-36 period badges with sliders and I have seen others. (I think there may have been a thread about these on here in the past.)
The badges with sliders were worn on the khaki forage cap, like the ones worn during the First WW.
