Default 5th Royal Highlanders
ORs 1906 bonnet badge in mint condition.
Extra long lugs for wear in the feathered bonnet.
Brooker 105-11-39.
Ex Hugh King.

Those sure are long lugs. Did the feather bonnet have reinforcement inside for the badge?

Bill, not sure what was inside the bonnet. Was a cloth backing or a rosette worn behind the badge? Need to see a side on view of the bonnet in use.

Those lugs look like they are a later addition with two big blobs of solder?

5th Royal Scots ORs feather bonnet badge 1895.
Another mint badge with full manufacturers lustre the tops of letters burnished. Again from the Hugh King collection I believe these badges were made by Hobsons. The lugs are 14mm long one with yellow braze the other lead solder. The 5RH lugs are 18mm both lead solder.
The usual length for glengarry lugs is 10mm.
