Default 3 SAS TRF / Patches currently on Ebay

Does anybody have a view on the 3 SAS troop patches currently for sale on ebay ?

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/RARE-ORI...19.m1438.l2649

Having compared them to mine, I see differences that lead me to believe they are copies. i.e. colours and finishes.
Regards,
Del.

The Seller covers areas with a pencil supposedly to prevent copies being made, yet in his other listings he offers in some of the descriptions that he can make badges for you.

Default SAS?

Wrong.
Certainly 1 and 2.
Colours and edges are not as made by either of the suppliers I'm aware of.
3 is similar to some made in the sand, but without provenance I wouldn't touch it either.
There have been a couple of real ones sold that I noticed, but they looked very different to these. I Refuse to even give them their "correct" IDs for OPSEC reasons.

Are the pencils and bluetac included in the auctions?

Default 3 patches

Fake, I have seen and handled the real ones. Stay well clear of these.

Just reading through the replies so far:

Pile of poo (picture thereof)
"don't look right"
"Wrong"
"Fake"
"suspect"

I would suggest that buying these would would be a grave error of judgement. However, we may all be be wrong because they sold for a massive amount of money (£350/162/150).

The maker of the originals was not impressed when I spoke to him in person.

The same buyer paid 664 pounds and was prepared to go higher !

I now know who the seller was and am even more convinced that these patches are copies of originals which I have in my collection.

Shame that the buyer did not do more research.

Del,
Hard to do research as the faker did a good job, apart from a really obvious flaw in one. There are nuances / differences and the guys in Hereford - have shown me the differences. Notwithstanding the obvious OPSEC mentioned by Ian, it’s a shame I can’t let you (although you probably have a handle on it) or other collectors know the difference of these fakes and what is real. It’s also a real shame the faker may produce more rubbish! Another ruining our hobby!

Just found the attached on Peter's old site with Google.

http://www.rhodesianmilitaria.com/page37.html

Regardless of authenticity this sort of stuff really shouldn't be listed on eBay for the previously noted reason of Opsec.
