Looking at the photograph, I would have said that it is actually eighth cycle Birmingham marks for 1958-59.

In theory if it is Birmingham it should be J at the earliest Q at the latest.

I can't make out the Hallmark loupe at work, will attempt to make it out and will photographe the front tomorrow! Too late at night am afraid, all the best billy

Hi brought home my Loupe and it is a " Anchor - Lion - 7 " the last is deffinately a 7 no idea what that means?

Cant be a "7" . Had a look at the marks and a "J" would fit. Meaning its 1958

Ive added the front image of mine .

Will bring it to the next Stratford fair but it is definitely a " 7 " Mike, what it means I have no idea but can't get a better image? All the best billy

Billy have a look at the Birmingham silver hallmarks, the J is canted to the right and has half a top stroke .
Ill bring my magnifying glass and glasses with me .

Thank you, that is a very nice badge, although, I do think that generally speaking, these lack the quality that pre war and even wartime silver badges made by this manufacturer have.
As already stated, the hallmarks are eighth cycle Birmingham for 1958-59, very nice indeed, I like it.

The "7" is in fact a "J" for 1958.
