Default Some para badges and patches for feedback please

Hi all
What are your thoughts on these items?
They are in an auction in Australia and I'm thinking of branching out into this new field.
Your thoughts are welcome.
Cheers bc

Before branching out I'd suggest you do a lot of research, buy books and look at all relevant posts here on the Forum as there are a lot of fakes out there.
The KC beret badge is one of them.

Rgds, Thomas.

Thanks Thomas
I thought that was the case along with the patches. I just wanted to double check in case I missed a bargain

As Thomas says, and adly for new collectors, some fileds - so called 'elite units' seem the worst - are being flooded by what can only charitably be called 'reproduction' badges and cloth. Of course, when sold to deceive, they are 'fakes'. A function of market forces, I'm afraid and nothing new. Third Reich collectors have been dealing with this for 30+ years. Like any other field, study, talking to experts and time are the only solutions!

Default Parachute Regiment and other British Special Forces insignia

Hello badgecollector,
You may find this post on my blog of immediate interest; http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2011/0...cap-badge.html, and while you are there you may also want to glance at the following articles; http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/p/british-militaria.html and http://arnhemjim.blogspot.com/2015/0...militaria.html. They reflect not only my limited knowledge, but that of several other advanced collectors. A personal word of advise if I may. Have been collecting for over five decades, been "burned" more times than I care to remember. Along the way became friends with Mike Shepard, Roy Turner and Maj. R.J. Bragg, all considered to be equal or exceeding to Kipling and King, in the field. Their combined knowledge saved my "bacon" countless times. In my personal opinion the "arena" of British Special Forces insignia has become far worse than the Roman Coliseum, lions and all.
