Default SWB with Brodrick cap

CDV with white facings and Brodrick cap dating it to that period when the SWB wore these two, early 20th century, I can't remember the dates for the use of the white facings rather than green but the cap should date to 1902-1907.

Nice picture Jerry. The SWB regained their grass green facings in 1905, the same year as the peaked, universal forage cap replaced the Brodrick.

Thanks Toby. I knew it was circa that date, just not had chance to look it up yet.

Hello Jerry,
This a superb image, I bet you wish you had that particular cap in your collection, I suspect a collector would have to dig rather deep to buy an example these days.
Regards Frank

Thanks Frank.

Indeed, what a cap to have, I've never seen an example for sale in my memory.

Default SWB

Here are pictures of a SWB soldier found in my Grandfather's effects. However, it does not seem to be my Grandfather who served in the SWB from 1907 to circa 1920. The picture was taken at the Chatham branch of U.S.A. Studios. 1 SWB were stationed at Lower Barracks Chatham from December 1910 to August 1913.
The uniform has the post 1905 grass green facings.

Interesting, the two seated at left are wearing the FS badge - appropriate for India.
