Sorry send the reply before adding. It appears voided at manufacture but can you tie it to a die that does not have the void? If that makes sense?

Bryan,
This is the same die as post no 47 by Dingley. The voided centre has been punched out by the manufacturer having clean sides, however the voids in the crown are uneven and pierced by hand.

HCB cast wm pouch/baldric badge 1909-19.
Badge closely follows design of predecessor units ie 5VBRH & Perthshire Highland Volunteers. This example with four short screws with nuts. It came together with a small cast wm crowned thistle shown below. Both pieces are highly polished in the central areas, I believe this combination of badges were worn on a pipers baldric rather than a pouch.

Indian made die-cast badge, white metal with a brassy tinge.
Best quality example I have seen.

Other ranks silver plated example. Always intrigues me why the front does not tarnish as the reverse. Lugs are fairly long so possibly for wear in feather bonnet. Most dealers describe these as sgts but I think more likely to be bandsmen.

Edwardian officers dirk belt plate 1902-10.
A very fine example not maker marked but looks to be a Kirkwood stlye of badge. Seeeded rectangular plate with raised burnished edges; mounted on the plate a faceted silver Star of the Order of the Thistle; mounted on the Star a gilt thistle wreath, within the wreath a crowned oval bearing the motto of the Order (Lacesset). To the centre, St. Andrew and the cross in silver, below the wreath a gilt Sphinx. The crown flanked by silver scrolls inscribed "The Royal Highlanders". The Sphinx flanked by silver scrolls inscribed "Black Watch". Nice details of the figure of St. Andrew.
