Default Question about Stafforshire Yeomanry ...

Hi,

I have read somewhere that the King crown officer's cap badge for the Staffordshire Yeo has been sealed in 1952 ...

Question : Do they only wore a QVC until 1952 ?

(I know we can find a mix of KC and QVC during ww2 for other ranks ...)

Best regards .. Herve

Hi Alan,

Thanks,
Ok, it's a K/C badge ... but I have read somewhere that this badge has been sealed in august 1952, so in 1942 was it an unofficial badge ?

Best regards .. Herve

It could have been sealed at any time earlier and then re-sealed in 1952.

Hi,

Thanks for that information.
In France, regimental badges are registered (homologués) only one time.

Best regards .. Herve

With Yeomanry and also Officers badges, the dates they were first used was sometimes not the same as the sealed patterns. The Staffs Yeo wore the QVC crown badges long after the k/c was authorised for wear and also long before the first badges were sealed for the Yeomanry circa 1916.

Herve, could you be referring to the garter style badge ? That followed the knot and crown badge.

The far right badge is ref 1414 in K&K sealed 8/8/ 1952.
The left badge is 1413 and sealed 18/9/1916.
