SNCO's glengarry badge in GM/SP & silver.
Silver plated back star has toned to a pleasing colour, overlay shows no sign of any gilt. St. Andrew is silver. Sgts and ORs case is full up now so having to double stack them.

Gilt brass watch fob with suspension ring, mounted with a silver St. Andrew. Engraved verso with unknown initials dated Feb 19th 1915. This is not a repurposed overlay removed from a badge rather a jeweler made piece.

Superb. That case needs to be thinned out a bit however, and I would be happy to of assistance...
As an aside, I am of the opinion that there is no such thing as a SNO or officer badge in this case and others such as the Gordons; they being the same for both rank ranges regardless of quality.
I hold it to be myth with no basis in fact, likely invented by collectors or some other erroneous source that most still fall prey to.

That is a really well made badge, very nice indeed. And a remarkable collection, I'll help you out with your storage issues, I'll just take the top layer
Thank you for sharing these also

Chris

All I can say is that I am flabbergasted! Absolutely superb collection. I see things in there that I have never seen before and will likely never see again.
