I feel foolish for even posting these in this section of the forum now. I knew next to nothing about the chap I was purchasing from so to hear such great and positive things about him is wonderful.

Value wise I was lucky in the fact I actually won them during an auction so not at retail price but none the less they will stick with me for many years to come.

Thanks everyone for your brilliant assistance and guidance.

No need to feel foolish, it's all a big learning curve. I overlooked the fact that you had them on eBay so hopefully you did well in the auction and had them for a good price. Glad to hear you are keeping them in your collection.

Just for general information - I really like this pair - I can imagine them having been taken off a shirt heading for the dhobi - in Java perhaps or Palestine c 1946. Mike
