Three new badges
Hi Guys,
I got these badges recently, but I concerned if they are genuine. They were really cheap, so it’s no big deal when they are fakes. I have a very bad feeling about the 5th Dragoons Guards badge. Many thanks, Alex |

Hi Alex,
If the RTR is cast silver/silver plate, I have one and mine was verified as being " good ", can't help more than that, sorry. Dave. |

The 5th DG is wrong im afraid, the white centre should be inlaid, heres a pic of the back of mine and the RTR looks like a cast of this one like mine.
All the best Malc

Alex, the first one is Royal Marines Light Infantry (RMLI) which was around during WW1. However, I do not want to make a pronouncement on whether it is genuine or not. David

Alex, from the images I would be happy with the RMLI, I agree with Malc on the 5DG and the RTC/R is probably theatre made!

Thanks a lot for your help. This confirms my opinion on the badges. I'll see if there is a chance to return the 5DG.
Many thanks, Alex |

I agree on the RMLI. I have a question for the more informed. I've had the same badge for a time but it has puzzled me that there is no sign of the map as seen on Alex's sample. I can't imagine cleaning removed it without wearing down other detail's, and it would be tough to just remove the map without leaving some trace in the corners.
Any thoughts? Simon. |
