Default Help to identify a brass shoulder title.

Hi,
I found this shoulder title and I don't know its origin. I think it's Canadian or may be Indian. I appeal to your knowledge to help me identify it.
Is it possible to have a picture of the 49 Canadian regiment shoulder title to compare.
Thanks for your help!
Loïc

Default Brass title

I'm sure a real expert will confirm but I think the Canadian 49th wore the letter C over the Arabic numeral 49. I cannot see anything similar being Indian in Cox, but again I'm sure somebody knows better.

Stephen.

I have a very similar semi-official brass title worn on the jungle hat c late 1960s in Hong Kong by 18 Fd Regt RA - XVIII. I believe 49 Fd Regt RA followed them to Hong Kong.

Yes, the Canadian 49th would have used the '49' [Arabic numerals] over a 'C'. The 49th Bengalis also used the Arabic numerals on their WWI and earlier badges, the the 47th [Indian Army] used Roman numerals.

Hi,
Thank you for your answers.
Sure enough, I found in the magazine "the formation sign" that the numbers or Roman letter worn alone should have a size of 1/2 inch. And that's exactly his size. Why not?
Thanks again.
Loïc
