Newfoundland Shoulder title
Required to illustrate an article in Miitaria on the "Fighting Newfoundlanders" of the Second World War - a high quality image of the cloth shoulder title NEWFOUNDLAND in white (or buff) letters of khaki worn by the three regiments of Newfoundland Gunners in the first half of the War. It will be properly attributed in the published article. Thanks. Mike

Yes, I think so, thank you. I'm hoping that these three are genuine. My co-author has other examples. Mike

The middle one appears to be a "Patch King" reproduction.

Bill,
Thanks. That's very helpful. Off it goes - into the sin bin. Mike |

Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit
I believe that a cap badge was authorised for the Newfoundland Overseas Forestry Unit. If so, was it worn by the members of 3rd Inverness (Newfoundland) Battalion, Home Guard. If not, what cap badge would they have worn. Reason for asking is to help "round out" our article on Newfoundland lad component units in WW2. Thanks. Mike
