Default Cheshire Regiment Badge

Gentlemen
Thoughts please on this one, all brass with two flaws on the scroll and heavily polished!
Kind regards Chay

In my opinion it doesn't look good. The three points which attach the scroll should be a lot neater and not have all that spare material.

I agree the flaws look a bit messy, there is thread on here where a collection of this type is shown and it’s the only photo of this version I can find
Kind regards Chay

Here is a couple of my brass badges for comparison as you can see they are a lot better made.

Yes indeed they do look a very nice design!
There are lots of variations of this type and I have tried to find the thread where they are shown but it's vanished!
Kind regards Chay

I like it, to me it's a typical example of a Great War economy issue badge. I think too much is made of the flaws in these badges which were made by the bucket-load by various manufacturers, not all of whom were perfectionists. The reverse detail is nice and sharp and it looks a good solid badge. If I was still collecting I would be well happy with it.

Hi Mercian
It’s not impossible that the badge could be a restrike but I think it’s ok.
I would imagine you collect this regiment?
I mainly collect Yorkshire badges but I have a Mercian cap badge!
Here’s a picture of me wearing it, I’m no too healthy these days I have MS but this was taken in 2009!
Kind regards Chay

Hello Chay, you have to remember it's only my opinion as that what the Forum is all about, expressing opinions. I must say the Mercian badge looks good.
