North British Railway
From the Sunderland Daily Echo and Shipping Gazette – Tuesday 16th July 1940
“Among large quantities of scrap metal recovered by the L. and N.E.R. are 33lb. of badges issued to staff of the former North British Railway during the Great War. With the exception of one or two to be retained for record purposes all will go to the melting pot to assist metal production." At least it was for the best of causes. Steve H |
