Sun Helmet Pagri flashes
All,
Is there any reference out there that shows all, or some, of the regimental flashes as worn on the sun helmet pagri from ww1 up to ww2? I cant seem to find anything on this subject. Thanks, CB |

I think I am right in saying that a units Pagri flash would be in that units colours, John.

I dont think there is a single book dealing with these items, some books on badges of one regiment might include details and there are often examples in The Formation Sign, the journal of the Military Heraldry Society.
If there are particular regiments you are interested in,members might be able to help. P.B.

If I remember rightly, Brian Davis' book on uniforms and insignia of the 2nd WW has a table - taken from Dress Regulations: India - that lists and describes those worn in about 1940 ???

Hello all. KLR you are right about Davis' book. For those with the book, see pages 145-146-147. On pages 146-147 the chapter is titled << Pagris(sic) and pagri(sic) patches worn on the Khaki Solar Pith Hat by British Troops in India, circa 1939.>>
If anyone need anymore info on this part, let me know. Jo
