Default Brass slidered a/a Royal Artillery

Acquired this one earlier this week, metal slidered RA beret size a/a badge.
T&S makers marked, Toye and Spencer I presume? And 1950's manufacture?
Any help would be welcome.
Cheers Tony.

I have an example to the RAOC with a plain T&S stamp but have also seen an example with joined circles with T&S within as shown.

Others I have seen are RA (as shown) and RE and have been told about a RASC example but not seen.

It is indeed RAOC with the 2 different T&S marks. Don't forget Chris Cunniffe's excellent site; http://www.smle.army-cap-badges.talk...collection.htm

Hi Jerry,
hope you don't mind me hijacking your post as your Broadband is down, I will post some piccys for you.
There are 2 T&S badges that I know of with aluminium sliders. They are your R.E badge and the Northamptonshire Regt. Both 2 piece badges have aluminium sliders but neither sliders have been anodised in silver.
Hope this helps!
Colin

Not sure the sliders are aluminium Colin.

Some other metal perhaps?

Regards,

Chris

Hi Chris,
I'm pretty sure there aluminium as they have passed my "magnet test". They don't appear to be a nickel or a steel slidered badge imo. Could be wrong, I'm no metals expert though!
Regards
Colin

I have seen an RE example, and would describe the slider as 'untreated' sheet aluminium and not anodised. In fact I am on the lookout for a RAOC example should one exist (I have a brass example but also looking for second as in post #5 & 6)
