Oh no its not ( 2)
This badge is nothing to do with the Kings Liverpool Regiment I am pretty sure:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2920631573...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT All the representations of the mythical Liver Bird I have ever seen show a sprig of some sort of foliage in the birds mouth. I did recall what I thought was the same badge being shown in one of the military societies magazines some time ago but when I found it ( In Crown Imperial Spring 2002 ), it was not the same badge but something similar- picture attached. Is anyone able to positively identify either badge, I think there is a clue in the Crown ( baronets coronet ? ) on the E bay badge. P.B.

Hello Peter
Given the presence of the coronet, it is possibly a livery badge. Livery buttons are familiar to most collectors but we tend to forget that some household staff wearing livery buttons also wore livery badges of one form or another. Roger |
