Proposed book on BSAP Uniforms & Insignia 1965-80
Hi All, Some of you may know of my project to put together a book on BSAP Uniforms & Insignia covering the years 1965-80. I started this project a couple of years ago and after a long period of inactivity have started looking at it again.
My plan is to cover the Uniforms in two ways, 1) where I have found the Standing Orders entry for the uniform, I will quote it in full as per the Standing Orders, 2) where no entry has been found (and some do not appear to have had an entry by which they were known as Dress Order No. 1, etc) I will describe the uniform as best I can using the nomenclature as per the BSAP, i.e. Cap S.D., drab is the description of the standard khaki BSAP cap. The other two sections will cover Insignia and Accoutrements (Belts, buckles, buttons, head-dress, ties, etc) Now whilst I have some 141 pages done to date there are areas that I need to find info on - If anyone has any good photos showing BSAP Uniforms (preferably in full length and stuff that isn't readily available on the internet), any documentation describing the uniforms (for instance I could do with a Standing Orders that has not been updated post 1966), any BSAP Booklets that may describe uniforms and insignia, (I am after for instance a copy/scan of the "Handbook of Information for Guidance of members of the African Field Reserve". Then anyone who has BSAP insignia collections or uniforms may be able to help as I need scans / photos of certain items. Anyone helping with information wil of course get a mention in the Acknowledgements. I look forward to hearing from any BSAP collectors / researchers - I have included for interest the entry for BSAP Mess Dress. Many thanks Wayne M. I have a few items of insignia, please feel free to look through my album http://www.britishbadgeforum.com/for...p?albumid=2785 and use any images you may want, sorry its not much help, I can send you larger versions of some of them but not all.
Your book will be a massive help for enlarging the collection. Cheers, Phil

Thanks Phil, a very interesting collection. Is it just BSAP, NRP, SAP and ZRP that you collect?
