Royal Marines with Broderick Caps aboard a HM Ship
Q 111636 Undated,Unattributed IWM files photo.
http://media.iwm.org.uk/ciim5/416/774/large_000000.jpg I thought the Broderick had ceased to be worn a long time before WW1....unless this photo was taken post 1908 and pre 1914. Jo

The Broderick cap was originally worn by both the Army and the Royal Marines. The army ceased to wear it prior to the First World War but the Royal Marines continued to wear it until the early 1920s when they switched to a peaked cap (actually it was just a Broderick cap fitted with a peak!).

If you ever get to visit Gosport war memorial hospital for what ever reason there are some super photo`s in the main corridor of the RMLI wearing this headdress circa WW1.
