Bone KSLI Sweetheart
Greetings Lads & Lasses,
Like most collectors I have had some unpleasant experiences with dealers and have at times vented my frustrations here on this forum. So I feel it's important to offer praise whenever possible too and especially as in this case, the dealer goes above an beyond. In that vain I would like to send out a huge 'Thank You' to Geoff of Geoff Newman Militaria. Over the years I have purchased a number of badges off Geoff and to my joy when a recent purchase turned up, it included...as a gift...not one but two Sweetheart badges...now that's a dealer that cares, so thank you Geoff. Here is now my favorite sweetheart badge a wonderful King's Shropshire Light Infantry badge in the form of a full size cap badge and amazingly made of bone! I can't imagine the hours that must have done into this. I know sometimes such items are associated with PoW's and although I have no history, it seems like a logical option. An interesting 'stick-pin' fitting as well, simple but effective. Thanks again Geoff for a wonderful gift and a superb addition to my KSLI collection. No my favorite KSLI sweetheart..! Cheerio, Roy

Hi Gents,
I'm getting around to some more photography with this badge and was wondering if anyone else has experience with these handmade bone sweetheart badges? I know it's a stretch but wondered if these can be attributed to a specific conflict? Assuming of course they are POW made items. Any thoughts: Boer War, WWI or WWII or have examples been attributed to all three conflicts? Cheerio, Roy
