Default Hertfordshire item?

Snapped this while watching an episode of the 70's TV series The Persuaders. A Hertfordshire/Bedfordshire item or TV Prop?
Anyone help with a positive ID?
cheers Tony

Thanks Hoot, thought it looked too good to be a TV prop.
Cheers Tony.

Worn from around 1865 to to the turn of the century. Originaly fitted with a spike on top which was replaced with a black horsehair plume around 1880. Bandsmen had a red over white plume.

I wonder where the helmet used in the series ended up.
Tony.
