Default The Rover & Hotspur Comic Books

I am rather pleased to have acquired these original comic books from the early 1950s. I framed them up today, there is one more in the post to me.

Thank you to forum member Jelly Terror for his help with this project.

Please excuse the reflection in some of the images.

Great to see these! I used to love reading comics like these - including the Victor and Valiant - in the 1960s and early-1970s. Full of great stories like Braddock VC, The Gunners of D Troop, and Captain Hurricane plus accounts of real bravery and heroism from the war. Great artwork too. Like many of us I think they played a great part in developing my interest in military history and militaria. Certainly worthy of framing!

They do look good and bring back some memories.

I seem to remember Sgt.Matt Braddock would have been in trouble with the MP`s an a number of occasions for being scruffily turned out until they noticed the V.C. ribbon on his tunic.

Rover, Adventure, Hotspur, Champion and Wizard ............. my Grandparents bought them all for me, every issue, for many years.

Hence or otherwise .................

Nostalgia is not what it used to be.
