Default Mystery large RCT badge

Hi all

What is this?

It is a large RCT wm cast badge, measures 80mm x 67mm.

Initially I thought car badge, then I thought from a wall plaque but if either of these why lugs and not screw posts?

It is a bit reminiscent of the old badly cast 123 (Scottish) Transport Column RASC TA Pipes & Drums badge.

Any thoughts?
Cheers
Sean

Sean, I would say it is most likely to be a piper's badge, a replacement for the equally rough RASC one. Not something I have ever come across though.

Hiya Sean,

I believe this to be a an in-house cast badge, which was most probably mounted on the grill of a truck, like the Tank Transporter cast grill badges, hence the use of short lugs for mounting behind the wire mesh grill.

(But that is my opinion, as stated by Hoot, I have not seen one before, which doesn't mean much)

Ken
