Very nice and quite well preserved, thanks for sharing, where in India was this? Didn't know they have a military museum for AFI units. Piffer

My pleasure Phil

PIffer. You are right they do not have a museum for AFI units. This czapska is on display at the Light Horse Bar of the Saturday Club in Kolkata

Nicknamed 'The Calcutta Tight Horse', the AFI unit was also seen by some of it's members, apparently, as a government scheme to help defray the costs of their polo ponies! OTOH, a few of them did sterling service in WWII in an 'unauthorized' but highly successful raid against a German merchant ship in neutral Goa. I believe David Nicen was in the movie.

A lovely item and just the sort of thing a wealthy unit like the CVL / CLH might have thouyght would add 'side' to their parade uniforms. Thanks very much for sharing it.
