WW1 era Norfolk Rgt badges for opinions plse
I have accumulated a few of these and would like to sort " the wheat from the chaff " can I have opinions please on any rotten apples in the barrel? I suspect at least 50% of them but I am still on a steep learning curve ! Many thanks James

Norfolk Regt pre 1937
James,
I am not keen on number 3, what others think I don't know. Rob |

Thanks Rob , I certainly have my suspicions on that one as well; very little detail to the face and a massively inflated cheek!

Norfolk
James,
The thing that first does it for me is the title scrolls. Rob |

James,
whilst I mirror Andy's respect for Rob, I believe he is spot on with it being an unmarked Lambourne badge. Here is one I have listed which has some good images. Best Regards Andy Last edited by 2747andy; 07-03-16 at 05:55 PM. |

Can I please say a very large thank you to all 3 of you for your very experienced and very informative responses . It's good to hear that I haven't wandered too far off the path so far ! It's a very humbling experience for me with my new collecting interests being the new boy in the class and I genuinely appreciate your positive and informative help . I hope to be able to return the favour as I get further down the road ! In the meantime if any of you ever have any questions or need help with any cloth insignias relating to the German SS then I have 30 yrs collecting experience I can share with you.

Lambourne Norfolks
Well, I live and learn, I did not know that the common fake was based on an unmarked Lambourne badge, I always thought that all Lambourne badges were marked on the slider, quality not always at a premium.
The reason I said that I was not keen on badge No 3 was that I'd never seen one of these until about thirty or so years ago when a lot of these badges seemed to be around, but thanks guys for your help in this matter. Rob |

Andy,
interesting that you have three variations (Die/Manufacturers) of the c.1916 "All Gm" Badges. I only have the same three! Of all the 26 Inf "EI" badges the Norfolks appears to have one of the least variations (apart from the Irish badges). Andy |
