Default cloth cap badges

hi guys,

was sorting through my cloth cap badges to put on a small album here. and wanted your views on a cpl.

the north irish brigade i got from a collector a cpl of years ago, when i said it looked pretty new he said it was found among some boxes at the rir depot in ballymena where he worked.

the 27th lancers i got more as a curio/talking piece.i realise the 27th was a war raised unit and possibly could not have had such a cloth badge.then i saw there were marching drum and bugle corps bands in the us and the philipenes called the 27th lancers and wondered if they had had these made.

your views welcome

p.s. doe anyone know when cloth cap badges first worn in the army, just a side question

philip
