Arrow A IV Cavalry Question?

Good day folks

Here are two IV cavalry shoulder titles. The top is the standard title that is found in Ash Nath's book and John Gaylor's Sons of John Company. I have not been able to find the lower style.

Lugs are very much in the Indian style (but it is very well made) so I'm assuming that it is 4th Cavalry but perhaps an officer's version or post independence.

Any thoughts or information most welcome.

Many thanks

James

Hi James - it is indeed 4th cavalry - both titles were worn in the period 1904 > 1922. Tim

The lugs on the second example almost certainly mean that it was made in India rather than the UK.

Hi James, The second title is also illustrated in Captain Ashok Nath's book as C1.9.11 on page 55 and is shown as one of the two variants worn between 1904 and 1922.
