The existence of sand cast badges is a touchy topic for collectors. They did/do exist but without proper provenance they are difficult to confirm.

It is not a Canadian armoured regiment badge. It is a bad casting of a collar badge for the King's Canadian Hussars. They were converted to artillery in 1939.

Some sand cast badges are legit. Many were made by service personnel or enterprising locals. (Some sand cast badges were made in Italy, some in Egypt or India, etc.)
However in this case, it is not a legit badge. The unit did not exist after 1939.

Yes, as Bill has stated, bad fake, I have the Or's and Officer's collar dogs & Cap Badges in my collection. The Kings Canadian Hussars was a Cavalry unit raised in Nova Scotia , under a few different names over the years.
