Command signs 1946-1968?
In the post war re-organization of the Canadian army, the former Military Districts were organized into five commands. Each was represented by a symbol, eg the wheat sheaf for Prairie Command, Martello tower for Central Command. Confirmation, these symbols were obosete when the Commands were re-organized as Militia Areas in 1968?

Hi jranrose, the area badges came after the Commands. Some of the same designs were used from the looks of it.

Hi Darrell, Thanks. I have that doc as well. (and a 1960? version). There is no tower design on the Central Command vehicle sign, and I distinctly remember them with the tower. That would be in Toronto area and London area (Ipperwash) circa 1966-70.

There are a number of editions of this markings doc. I have one where the only device shown is for Quebec command.
