Default Essex Militia

Hello Troops
There are two Essex Militia badges that have been sold, one by Geoff Newman code 19505 and the other Castle Militaria code 62052.
What do members think of the badges? one looks ok to me [with the slider], the other does not look right.
What do members think?
Regards Terry

Many thanks for your replys.
All the Essex Militia badges I have seen have reversed Metals to the standard Essex badge. To me Castle Militaria badge is a great example of the ones I have seen. Geoffs badge has 'The Essex Regt' in white metal and the oak leafs in brass. Why did they have veriations?
Happy Easter to all.
Regards Terry

Terry,

I dont know why the metals appear different and can only imagine they were made at different times and/or by different manufacturers,.

regards

This one however has the same construction flaw where the top of the central tower cuts into the plinth and Egypt lettering, 'flat' face of the wreath detail and combination of brasing hole shapes and numbers that I have also seen in modern copies of the standard bi-metal badge.

Hello Alan
I have been in touch with the seller, and I have told him that the Essex badge is a fake, he has not replied and the badge is still for sale.
Regards Terry
