FSSF PATCHES AND IDENTITY TAGS
A portion of a nice local lot into the museum. As much as I like the 2 styles of FSSF patches, I really liked the "dog tags" as I had not seen American ones issued to Canadians before.

Nice patches. Been looking for one of these for a while, seem to be some repros out there. Cheers Brian

Thanks for posting those Gary. Not often we see good examples of the FSSF patches. AS Brian says there seem to be some (read a ton) of repros out there.

Very nice. Might you have any more pictures of the rest of the group?... Cheers

The only other bits that belonged to this individual were his Royal Canadian Corps of Signals cap and collar badges worn prior to joining FSSF, an American compass, Canadian binoculars and a printed Kiska patch. I can scan the Kiska patch Monday if there is any interest but it didn't seem out of the ordinary. The item that I really liked in the group was the dog tags.

Nice examples of FSSF SSI.
The general feeling amongst US collectors the wider variation are the ones to collect , but great to see a narrow variant with this lot. Please scan the front and back of the ATF-9 Kiska SSI. Phill |

I'll try to get it done tomorrow morning when I get into work.

Good example. (The patch was worn with the knife pointing down.)

Here is my printed ATF-9 SSI for comparison.
Note material variation compared to 8Hussar. I have wondered if mine could be a repro , any thoughts. Phill Last edited by Phill Lockett; 10-01-17 at 04:52 AM. |
