Default DLI Officers cap badge in brass ?

Hi All,

please excuse my ignorance as still relatively new to badges...Purchased this recently. DLI Officers cap badge, but in brass ? Appears to have been painted or varnished dark brown, most of which has rubbed off. Maker marked Gaunt. Can anyone give me some information on the badge ? I have never seen an Officers badge in brass...

Cheers in advance,

Mark

Default OSD DLI

Hi Mark, if you look at some of the OSD Albums on the forum you will see a variety of tones and shades of "brown" and wear on these badges. High Wood has an album picturing a DLI with much the same colouration and wear to the high points.
Cheers.
Len
