Default Panther badge

He guys, I was hoping someone may be able to tell me something about this badge?. I'm sure it's nothing to do with "the black panthers" as their badges always seem to be "black panthers"
Thanks for looking in
Andy

Hello Andy,
Welcome to the forum.
Can you post an image of the rear of this badge?
Sean

Default Panther Badge

Not convinced about Panther m/cycles. As far as I can recall the badge featured the whole body not just the face. As someone who owned a 600cc Panther combination and have still got one of the badges around I've got a feeling the panther was on a black and yellow background. The tank badges on mine just had the word' Panther' written in red. I'll see if I can find my old badge.

Cheers

Arnhem

I think it may be Malaysian, Thailand or Burma. I remember seeing this type of emblem on a FS knife carried by the Malaysian special forces.

Motorcyclist have always been well supplied with enamel badges to wear on their leather jackets, I have spent most of my life trawling around motorcycle shows and autojumbles looking for bits for my WD bikes and there are stalls covered in nothing but enamel badges for every make you can think of, and each badge manufacturer has their own version, for some common makes like Triumph or BSA I wouldn't be surprised if there weren't varieties into the high hundreds.

A simple google seach shows quite a variety for Panther, some with just the head, others with a leaping panther, there will be many more.

As always a picture of the back of the badge would have helped.
