Hi Dean,
another option is use on an officer field service cap, seem to remember being told these used tiny badges. Have an example somewhere, will dig it out and make a comparison.

It's a cord boss badge. My one has two wires in exactly the same places as the scars in Dean's.

Wire would make it more likely to be for the cord boss Dean, as that was the method generally used to join the two.

P.S. I just see that Keith has already confirmed this.
