LAC Faces at War has some great images. Here is one with some very interesting details? What can you come up with?

Looks like the NNSH officer is attached to brigade HQ. He's speaking with an officer 3rd div RCAPC and a CWAC LT...I'd say circa summer 1944 france.

Like those NNSH officer badges with the enamels...have one for sale...

Is it the norm to only have the one breast pocket on the Female jacket?

Yes 54Bty,it is the official pattern of CWAC's uniform to have only one pocket.
Dwayne,(about the funny hat), that's probably because she's Lt.Molly McMurray CO of the CWAC's Pipe Band.

Not sure about the beret, but I'm positive the cigarette the NNS officer is smoking is a Buckingham.

Regarding the hat worn by the officer, it is the CWAC pipe band balmoral, not a beret. It was made by a hat company in Toronto, name escapes me at the moment. It had a band of dark brown around the bottom of the balmoral and the badge was mounted on the left side surrounded by a dark brown florette.

Regarding the query about the CWAC tunic, it had just one breast pocket because the tunic was designed to be fashionable to attract recruits.

Correction to previous posting. The term florette is wrong. The word is rosette.

With the bar over the div patch, I'm thinking occupation force, post VE Day.

Morning, Bar over the division patch is the brigade bar. Bar under the division patch is the CAOF patch.
