Question RND NELSON BADGE "A NEW KID ON THE BLOCK?

We are so used to seeing the NELSON badge "copy" with vertical lines on the sail. But this is the first time I have seen this one. This badge looks good until you notice the wings on the beasts and the shape of the N.

What do you think

John

John.

It looks very similar to mine which I have had since 1962, and which I purchased from old collector. A photo of mine and the background to it is here.

The only difference appears to be the wings of the beast on mine are finer in detail than on yours, especially to the right as you look at the badge.

Hi Chris

Thank you for that, also the other link, which I had an input into. I will check the Bosley catalogues for illustrations. My concern was with the finer wings and the fact that the N, at the start of NELSON was not sloping out at an angle on the left leg.

John

I've also got one of these Nelson badges which I have held on to as it is well made and I have a feeling is more likely to be good than bad. The other slight difference between this and the Gaunt marked badge is that the pennant is not cut out as much. I believe Bosleys sold an identical badge early this year or late last year.
