Default Sweetheart ID

Am waiting on this one arriving and wondered if RN/RM collectors might want to offer opinion on its origins (or if perhaps someone has seen it before and knows for sure what it connects to).

It was advertised as possibly a PTI but I think it looks more like paddles than clubs and wondered if SBS or even WWII canoeists (given the addition of the R M which you do not usually see on home made sweethearts)

Of course I'm going to be gutted if it turns out to be a flippin RM rowing club or something

RM PTI perhaps. Indian clubs were all the rage in the early 1900s (I believe!)

Default Probably PTI then

Afternoon Mike
After posting I was going through bits I will sell one day and found the attached programme. Inside the date goes across the fold and look like 19 2
So probably 1912 or 1922 as it is for an RMLI QMSI. The programme events mention club swinging.
Top left of the front is what looks like an SQ badge (design with the stars is similar to modern Blues SQ badges) and presumably PTI.
The shape in that drawing are identical to the sweetheart - long handles and flattened end to the 'bulb'.
Reckon you're probably right and it was wishful thinking on my part for a canoe connection!

That seems to me to be definitive! What a remarkable programme.

Default Bet I do not look that good when around 100

Yes Mike - for its age it looks to be in remarkable condition
Seems hand drawn/written on card.
Attached is the interior section of it

I was going to put it into a display case as I always include memorabilia but am working on the last case now (cloth) and ran out of room

It was a toss up between that and the RMLI Christmas card shown here ... the latter won!
