Default Formation Inisignia Red Salamander Black Circle

Hello Everyone,

I got this last week with a lot of mostly US patches and insignia. I've been through my reference books and searched on here but cannot seems to find it. It measures about 3 inches square. Can anyone ID this for me?

Thank you in advance,
Keith

It's mystery to me - certainly not a British formation sign, but could possible be Polish? The history of HMS/HMY Brinmaric is fascinating. Mike

Thank you Mike, it’s been great being in contact with the family memebers of the crew. I believe all of the crew are now deceased. I’m very grateful to the Fox family for sharing all the photos and information of her pre and post war.
