One of the joys at seeing any BMR plate, collar, title, badge or button, is simply, that they are all quite uncommon these days and have to be antiques proper.

Hi Dudley
What was the boot badge with the 'starred' green backing used for? Thanks, cheers, Alex |

The triangular cut edged circles were apparently worn on the upturned brim of the slouch hat. Green for BMR and chocolate for NMR

Was the small collar badge worn on the slouch hat? (It is facing the wrong way to be a cap badge,) or did the collars also have have a backing?

Greetings Gents
The boot badge for the BMR was a collar badge and came in facing pairs. The one with the green facing is the same size as the other two. For some reason the image is resized. The one with green facing was given to me "as is" while still living in Pietermaritzburg. Unfortunately its mate was missing! The cap badge with the green facing is somewhat smaller that the helmet badge and was worn on the peaked cap. The font of the letters is a bit different. Kind regards. Dudley |
