Not new Newfoundland artillery
I don't think this can be called a new thread but Jo I just came accross your post which included some links to the Newfoundland Regt. The last picture was listed as a ships crest & I'm wondering if that's an error. The 59th Heavy was a Royal Artillery Regt. The brass decided not to put the NFLDer's in the infantry during the 2nd way in case of a repeat of Beaumont Hamel, so they made up Artillery Regts of them, The 57th & 59 heavy & the 166th field. Just wondering how it could bea ship'screst. That would be a valueable crest because there is nothing out there from the 59th. Ray

Well Ray, the item in question, a wall plaque (looking at it now) is included in some other ship's plaques from the Crow's Nest Artifacts Ass. in St-John's,I think. My guess is that since all that stuff is from a NFLD Ass. someone thought a good idea to include this plaque with all the other ones even though it is not a ship's crest, to honour all those who served in that units. It just happened like that.
