3 buttons for ID
The Navy type button is a reserve unit of some sort? The Dublin University Officer training Corps button is it about 1920 in date? and last the Australian Military Forces is that WWII in date? Many thanks....Paul.

Australian button
I have a lot of variations of these, and put them on cards years ago according to size and maker but have never been able to date them exactly. Some maker variations have different sized crowns, or do not have state borders on the map of Australia. I have never seen any research on them as there is with the generic British coat of arms buttons. Perhaps a specialist button collector can help.

The first button is RNR, Royal Naval Reserve.
The second is pre 1922. The third appears to have the Northern Territories boundary missing. If it does then it's 1914-30 according to Buttons of the Defence Forces in Australia by J.K. Cossum. David. |
