Dave,

I am 99% certain that 8th foot and KLR will be very negative about your Liverpool Scottish.

No scroll cameron would be Victorian and I cannot say for certain whether it is right or not as I do not know enought about pre1900. I am sceptical because it is such a widely faked badge.

Here a few pictures of the RWF Badge .Not sure what the flaws are but i can not see any on the front .The back has the crimp mark on the slider .Hopefully it's a genuine badge.

Hi nottuh13,

2747andy has a comprehensive album on the RWF, it might pay you to have a good look thru' it and see if any match your badge, there have also been several threads on this badge, particularly one, if I remember correctly, that discussed the little symbol at the botton of the band.

Regards.

Dave.

Dave,
If it is the Liverpool Scottish you had from me then it is 100% Genuine and Maker Marked "Gaunt London" the mark is feint but is on the rear of the lower arm of the Saltire!

Cheers Andy,

Fear not my friend, I'm showing the one I had from you ( for peanuts almost ) now, when compared, we will not need Julian or Peter to offer their opinions, what Alan said is enough.

Out of the six ( with this one ), I now know that three are good, the gm with scroll is wrong as is the other L'pool Scottish, that just leaves the brass pre territorial to be decided on ??????

Thanks and all the best.

Dave.

Hi Mark,

The lugs on the L'pool Scottish look sound and if that's a makers mark in the Saltier then it's the same as my second example, I can't say much about the Camerons but the brass one, like mine, is a copy ???? unless of course, I'm told I'm wrong again !

Dave.

PS, On the British Armed Forces web site, there are a couple of brass badges shown, including the Camerons with the scroll ????? I have to wonder why ?

DC.

Hi nottuh13,
I have not posted for some time but in my opinion your badge is genuine and nice to have makers name on slider.
