Default 6th Lancashire Artillery Volunteers- Prizes for attendance

I met a man this morning who showed me some books his Grandfather won as prizes for attendance in the 6th Lancashire Artillery Volunteers in the years 1901 when he attended 139 drills and 1902 when he attended 107 drills ( enthusiasm waning perhaps ?- only joking )

Just goes to show what commitment there was in the old Volunteers before the horrors of WW1 ( and well before the days of television )

Photographs of the certificates pasted into the front of the prize books are attached and are interesting mementos of a family members service all those years ago.

P.B.
